A number of battery innovations are on the horizon. These include carbon nanotubes and Sodium-ion, Solid-state, and Stretchable fuel cell. You may even have heard about carbon nanotubes. If you have, then you are in luck. There are many more. Read on to learn more about the latest in battery innovation. While you're there, check out the latest battery innovations!

Carbon nanotubes

Scientists are looking at the potential for carbon nanotubes to be used in battery innovation. High-conductive nanoparticles can be used to make electrodes for batteries. New electrodes can retain 92% of their potential even after 500 cycles. Lithium ion batteries will deliver power to loads whose maximum potential difference is greater that their corresponding potential gap at zero. This high-performance characteristic isn't yet widely available. Further research is needed before the technology is ready for use in large-scale battery applications.

Sodium-ion batteries

There are many similarities between sodium-ion and lithium-ion battery. Although they are both alkali elements, sodium is far more abundant than lithium. The two metals are in close proximity on the periodic table, but they differ in their chemistry, making them potentially advantageous for a wide range of applications. Sodium-ion batteries may have a future in the renewable energy sector, which is experiencing a shortage of lithium.

Solid-state batteries

An engineering team from UC San Diego created a new type for battery that combines the two promising sub-fields of solid-state electrodes and allsilicon anodes. This battery is highly versatile, safe, and energy dense and can be used for many applications. This innovation will be published in the Sept. 24 issue of Science. The research was carried out by UC San Diego scientists and researchers from LG Energy Solution.

Stretchable fuel cells

Stretchable fuel cells may be the solution to your battery problems. It works by extracting energy form human sweat. This can then be used as an energy source to power Bluetooth radios, and LEDs. Researchers developed a biofuel cells with flexible membranes that can be attached to custom-made circuit boards. This could be used for stationary cycling to power an LED. Researchers believe stretchable fuel cell technology is an important breakthrough in battery technology. It could power wearable electronics from the body, according to them.

Nanogenerators

Georgia Tech researchers have developed a new type of battery called a "nanogenerator". The new technology makes use of the triboelectric force to generate electricity. This is when two surfaces rub together, creating friction that transfers electrons one way to the other. This occurs when one surface receives electrons and the other is positively charged. This creates static electricity, and unlike an external circuit, it doesn't travel through an open circuit. The triboelectric force can be seen by simply rubbing a balloon against a loved one's head.

FAQ

Is the Xbox One backward compatible?

However, not all games will be supported. Because technology and format has changed, certain games won't work on the new platform. Others aren't yet updated. The good news is that most Xbox 360 games will work fine on the Xbox One.

How many controllers do I need?

Many people believe they require multiple controllers to play their favorite video games. They believe that if one accessory isn't available, the player won't be able to fully enjoy their game.

However, there is no reason to feel that you have to own every controller. Nowadays, you only need one controller for most games. This means that even if you have only one controller, you can still play multiplayer with friends with different controllers.

You will need two controllers if you want to really get in on the action. Some games, for example, require two controllers in order to be played properly. So if you want to play those types of games, then you'll need to invest in additional controllers.

Are either consoles available with a headset?

Both consoles come without a headset. Both systems use wireless headphones instead. They also include a standard 3.5mm jack.
